Site Description: The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital’s emphasis on general medicine and general surgery reflects its role in providing core services. Specialists from Kingston regularly hold clinics at the hospital. The range and scope of those clinics continue to expand as the hospital grows. Emergency services, operating 24 hours a day, see in excess of 26,000 patients per year.

Position: Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Lennox & Addington County General Hospital

Site: Lennox & Addington Hospital - 8 Richmond Park Dr

Schedule: Continental Nights Only, 1900-0700

Payrate: $19.00/hour

Overtime Method:  Ontario Averaging Agreement (AA) After 88 Hours

Job Description:

• Proactive & reactive security patrols of main site and outlying facilities
• Patient Watches
• Response to incidents and intervention
• De-escalation
• Surveillance monitoring
• Report writing
• Investigate routine incidents
• Parking and smoking enforcement/by-laws
• Policy awareness and enforcement
• Additional Duties as Assigned

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required
• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved source)
• Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2) 
• Steps to get your immunization records:
• Immunization Form: Immunization-Record-Ontario-Paladin.pdf
• Ability to complete extensive patrols, to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift
• Ability to work alone and self-motivated
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills is required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
