Job Summary
The Team
The community corrections office is part of a public safety system that supervises and supports individuals involved in the justice system within the community. The team includes probation officers, administrative professionals, and management who work in a structured, process-driven environment. The office manages confidential information, coordinates with courts and other justice partners, and follows established policies and procedures to ensure consistent service and safety.
The Role
Reporting to the Office Manager, this position provides administrative and front-line support for the office. The role includes reception duties, assisting clients and visitors, answering phones, and directing inquiries. It also involves entering and maintaining client records in internal systems, processing court and police documents, and supporting file management. In addition, the position handles general office tasks such as preparing documents, managing mail, maintaining supplies and equipment, and ensuring confidential information is handled properly.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
- Secondary School graduation and six (6) months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
- Minimum keyboard speed of 30 words per minute.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
- Preference may be given to applicants with more than six months of related experience working in a clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support role;
- Preference may be given to applicants with completion of a post-secondary certificate, program or course in office administration;
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in an office setting providing services within the Justice System (Court Services, Correctional Centre, BC Prosecution Services, Youth Justice, legal office, justice focused non-profit);
- Preference may be given to applicants with a valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license without restrictions or an equivalent Canadian driver’s license. A valid BC Class 7 may be considered.

- Willing to serve adult clients who may have multiple legal, health, social, and/or mental health needs and/or clients who have committed or alleged to have committed criminal acts including intimate partner violence or sexually motivated offences.

About this Position
This is a temporary opportunity until October 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
This position is part time (0.75# FTE).
This position has full time on-site requirements.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent, part time vacancies.
A Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) and Enhanced Security Screening will be required.
