Summary :
The Seasonal Line Cook position gives the applicant the opportunity to work independently and as part of a team in a fun, fast paced environment. As a Line Cook you will be a pivotal team member supporting our restaurant and banquet event services.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating during service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ensure food quality and consistency meet golf course standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors of shortages.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products using FIFO principles.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with banquet, tournament, and special event food preparation as required.
- Perform opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Maintain professional communication with supervisors and team members.
- Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or similar kitchen role preferred.
- FoodSafe Certification or provincial equivalent is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions :
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to hot kitchen environments and cooking equipment.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.
- Overtime as required during peak season, tournaments, and special events.
Reason for Vacancy:
- Seasonal position, and dependent on the weather and golf season.
