Sentinel recrute actuellement un(e) spécialiste de la paie qui jouera un rôle clé dans la transition de toutes les entreprises acquises vers un SIRH centralisé, incluant l’administration, la configuration et l’exécution complète des processus de paie de bout en bout. Ce poste vise à apporter stabilité et expertise lors de la mise en place d’une nouvelle plateforme, dans un contexte où cette expertise est actuellement limitée au sein de l’organisation.
Ce poste peut être basé soit à Oakville (Ontario), soit à Lachine (Québec)
Responsabilités principales
Gestion de la paie
- Superviser et assurer le traitement exact et ponctuel de la paie hebdomadaire
- Élaborer et maintenir les procédures, contrôles et meilleures pratiques en matière de paie
- Examiner et approuver les rapports de paie, y compris la répartition de la main‑d’œuvre et les provisions
- Gérer les écritures comptables liées à la paie et réconcilier les comptes de paie avec le grand livre
- Veiller au respect de l’ensemble des lois fédérales et provinciales applicables en matière de paie, notamment en Ontario, au Québec et en Alberta.
- Diriger les activités de fin d’année (T4, conciliations, audits, etc.)
- Agir comme principal point d’escalade pour les enjeux liés à la paie
Administration des avantages sociaux
- Superviser l’administration des régimes d’avantages sociaux des employés, y compris les adhésions, modifications et cessations
- Gérer les relations avec les fournisseurs d’avantages sociaux et agir comme point d’escalade pour les situations complexes
- Assurer le traitement exact et ponctuel des primes et des rapports liés aux avantages sociaux
- Surveiller et réconcilier les déductions d’avantages sociaux avec la paie
- Soutenir les communications et la formation des employés concernant les programmes d’avantages sociaux
Conformité et gouvernance
- Assurer la conformité aux normes d’emploi, aux règlements fiscaux et aux exigences de déclaration applicables
- Surveiller les changements législatifs et recommander les mises à jour nécessaires aux politiques et pratiques
- Maintenir une stricte confidentialité des renseignements personnels et de rémunération des employés
- Développer et appliquer des contrôles internes pour atténuer les risques
Leadership et amélioration continue
- Offrir du leadership, de la formation et de l’accompagnement aux membres des équipes de la paie et RH, au besoin
- Collaborer avec les équipes RH, Finances et les gestionnaires pour soutenir la planification de la main‑d’œuvre et la gestion des coûts
- Identifier des occasions d’optimisation des processus et d’amélioration de l’efficacité
- Diriger ou soutenir des projets liés à la paie, aux avantages sociaux et à l’implantation de systèmes
SIRH et rapports
- Superviser l’administration et l’optimisation du système SIRH/paie
- Veiller à l’intégrité des données, à l’exactitude des rapports et à la conformité du système
- Produire et analyser des rapports de paie et d’avantages sociaux afin de soutenir la prise de décision
- Soutenir les audits et les exigences de rapports internes et externes
Qualifications
- Études postsecondaires en paie, comptabilité, finance, administration des affaires ou ressources humaines (un atout)
- Désignation de Professionnel en conformité de la paie (PCP) fortement appréciée
- 5 ans et plus d’expérience pratique en paie, idéalement dans un environnement canadien multi‑entreprises et multi‑provinces
- Bilingue (anglais/français)
- Expérience démontrée du traitement de la paie de bout en bout
- Expérience directe avec : Les feuillets T4, les processus de fin d’année et les audits de paie; Les conciliations de la paie et l’intégration au grand livre, La répartition de la main‑d’œuvre, les provisions et les écritures comptables
- Excellente maîtrise des systèmes de paie (ex. : Dayforce, ADP, UKG, Workday)
- Compétences avancées en Excel pour les rapports de paie et d’avantages sociaux
- Solide connaissance pratique des lois fédérales et provinciales canadiennes en matière de paie

Le ou la candidat(e) idéal(e) est un(e) spécialiste senior de la paie au Canada, possédant une solide expertise des systèmes, à l’aise dans un environnement en constante évolution et capable de stabiliser et de standardiser les processus de paie et d’avantages sociaux lors d’une transition vers un SIRH.
Fourchette de rémunération globale : 75000$ à 95000$, selon l ’ exp é rience.

Sentinel is currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist who will play a critical role as we are transitioning all acquired companies to a central HRIS that includes administration, build and execution of end-to-end payroll processing. This role enables stability onto a new platform through expertise that is currently lacking across the business.
This position may be based in either Oakville, Ontario or Lachine, Quebec.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll
- Establish and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and best practices
- Review and approve payroll reports, including labour distribution and accruals
- Manage payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts with the general ledger
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial payroll legislation, including Ontario, Quebec and Alberta
- Lead year-end payroll activities (e.g., T4s, reconciliations, audits)
- Act as primary escalation point for payroll-related issues
Benefits Administration
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Manage relationships with benefits providers and act as escalation point for complex issues
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of benefit premiums and reporting
- Monitor and reconcile benefit deductions with payroll
- Support employee communication and education regarding benefits offerings
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to policies and practices
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee compensation and personal information
- Develop and enforce internal controls to mitigate risk
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Provide leadership, training, and guidance to payroll and HR team members (if applicable)
- Partner with HR, Finance, and department leaders to support workforce planning and cost management
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Lead or support payroll/benefits-related projects and system implementations
HRIS & Reporting
- Oversee the administration and optimization of the HRIS/payroll system
- Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system compliance
- Develop and analyze payroll and benefits reports to support decision-making
- Support audits and internal/external reporting requirements
Qualification
- Post‑secondary education in Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Human Resources (preferred)
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation strongly preferred
- 5+ years of hands‑on payroll experience, ideally in a multi‑company, multi‑province Canadian environment
- Bilingual (English/French)
- Proven experience with end‑to‑end payroll processing
- Direct experience with: T4s, year‑end processes, and payroll audits; Payroll reconciliations and general ledger integration; Labor distribution, accruals, and journal entries
- Advanced Excel skills for payroll and benefits reportings
- Strong proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., Dayforce, ADP, Workday)
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation
