Cardiologist with sub-specialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology - Royal Columbian Hospital

Job Summary

Applications are invited for 1-2 full-time interventional cardiac electrophysiologists at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster, British Columbia to join an existing team of four interventional electrophysiologists. The successful applicant will be fully trained with contemporary experience in complex device implantation and cardiac ablation, including complex atrial and ventricular ablation procedures. The role also includes participation in the regional electrophysiology call schedule, ambulatory services as determined by the needs of the clinical group, and a commitment to the general cardiology service at Royal Columbian Hospital.

The Royal Columbian Hospital is a tertiary provincial referral hospital located in New Westminster, BC. The site offers medical and surgical services, advanced diagnostics & imaging, interventional radiology, critical care, inpatient pediatrics, obstetrics and neonatology, cardiac surgery, neurosciences, and other tertiary programs. With 440 acute beds and serving roughly 2 million people, the hospital is undergoing redevelopment to expand patient capacity and operating room facilities for invasive cardiac electrophysiology. It is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and performs a high volume of cardiovascular procedures annually.

The Royal Columbian Hospital is located within a 30-40 minute drive of downtown Vancouver, offering access to outdoor recreation and the cultural amenities of a cosmopolitan city.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CMPA membership
• Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia for independent specialty practice
• Must hold FRCPC or equivalent
• Experience in research, teaching and healthcare administration is considered an asset
