Industrial Automation Project Engineer

Design automated systems and manage industrial automation projects with LAPORTE in a hybrid position available across Canadian office locations. Apply PLC expertise and project controls.As an Automation Engineer, you will support pharmaceutical, agri-food, industrial, and industrial biotech facilities. Your work combines customer needs definition, equipment selection, programming, testing, commissioning, and project management. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and clients.Key Responsibilities:
Define customer needs for automated system projectsDesign controls, instrumentation, motor controls, and panelsProgram, test, and commission automated systemsManage planning, budgets, schedules, resources, and change controlPrepare specifications, plans, estimates, and project reportsRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in automated production or electrical engineeringProfessional engineering membership with EGBC or APEGAFive to six years of industrial automation experienceKnowledge of Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens productsFlexibility for occasional client and manufacturing site visitsBring automation design, PLC programming, and project management expertise to LAPORTE’s multidisciplinary engineering teams across Canada.
