Job Summary

Head of Americas Compliance & Canada Chief Compliance Officer within PayPal’s Global Compliance function responsible for delivering on the compliance and regulatory requirements for PayPal Canada Co., along with PayPal’s other legal entities in Brazil, Mexico and supporting the rest of Latin America (rLATAM), ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations. The Senior Director, Compliance provides key inputs as an industry expert, developing compliance vision aligned with PayPal-wide strategy. This role focuses on long-term compliance success, anticipating regulatory changes and directing activities across multiple areas with decisions that significantly impact organizational regulatory posture and reputation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate comprehensive compliance vision and strategy aligned with PayPal-wide business objectives and regulatory landscape
  • Provide strategic counsel to executive leadership and board of directors on regulatory requirements, compliance program effectiveness, and emerging risks
  • Lead the compliance team, establishing vision, strategy, and operating model for compliance excellence
  • Direct compliance strategy and program effectiveness across multiple business areas, making strategic decisions that have significant impact on regulatory adherence
  • Anticipate regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and industry developments, positioning the organization for continued compliance leadership
  • Establish methods, techniques, and frameworks for compliance program management that define organizational capability and regulatory integrity
  • Build strategic relationships with regulators, industry bodies, and external partners that enhance PayPal's compliance posture and influence
  • Develop next-generation compliance leadership through mentorship, succession planning, and creation of a world-class compliance culture
  • Represent PayPal as a thought leader in regulatory compliance and governance through industry engagement, publications, and strategic initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant compliance experience and a Bachelor's degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proven track record of leading a high‑performing compliance team
  • Demonstrated ability to influence organizational strategy at the highest levels and drive transformational compliance change
  • Recognized industry expertise with established reputation as a thought leader in compliance, regulatory risk management, or governance

Preferred Qualifications

Additional responsibilities and qualifications are not listed; however, the role is based in the PayPal subsidiary, with an expected travel commitment of 20%.

Location & Compensation

Primary Location: Toronto, Ontario Pay Range: $187,000.00 – $265,650.00 per year. Additional compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation as applicable.
