Accountant Director - Foreign Division (Philippines) (Montreal)

Responsibilities

• Maintain the established international division in the Philippines serving HMBP Inc.'s clientele.
• Act as liaison between the teams in Montreal and those in the Philippines.
• Train and manage subcontractors based in the Philippines to ensure they meet the needs of partners and directors in Montreal.
• Establish a division owned by HMBP Inc. in the Philippines through a Canadian company to gradually phase out the subcontracting model.
• Set up a team in Montreal subject to approval by HMBP Inc. management.

Qualifications

• Functionally trilingual: French, English, Tagalog.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA designation in Canada or the Philippines (asset).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in an accounting firm or corporate environment.
• Solid understanding of current legislation and regulations in the Philippines.
• Good knowledge of regulatory services in the Philippines and prior exposure.
• Exposure to the payroll accounting cycle and its functioning in the Philippines is a plus.
• Experience and skills in team management, coaching, and training.
• Good knowledge of various accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Simple Accounting, MS Office).
• Excellent knowledge of Taxprep and Caseware software.
• Ability to work under pressure while respecting deadlines and commitments.
• Capable of producing accounting documents in French in writing; speaking French is an asset.
• Experience working with healthcare professionals is an asset.
