Machinist

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for operating manual grinding equipment while also supporting various machining and finishing operations in a cross-trained production environment. You will help produce high-quality machined components while ensuring work meets engineering specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Machinist Responsibilities:

• Operate manual cylindrical grinding equipment to finish precision machined components
• Support machining operations including manual and CNC equipment as required
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and verniers
• Deburr, sand, and polish parts to meet quality standards and production requirements
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure dimensional accuracy throughout the machining process
• Perform basic machine maintenance, coolant checks, and daily equipment cleaning
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Machinist Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of machining or grinding experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience operating manual grinding equipment or cylindrical grinders preferred
• Experience working with manual or CNC machining equipment considered an asset
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Experience working with precision measuring instruments and maintaining tight tolerances
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machining tools, fixtures, and shop equipment
• Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
