Position Summary and Scope of Service

The Psychology Technician works as part of a team and assists the Behaviour Analyst with conducting behavioural assessments, developing interventions, and implementing those various interventions. Other duties include data entry, staff/caregiver training, program monitoring, and other duties as assigned. The Psychology Technician uses service evaluation feedback to purposefully and continually strengthen services.

The Psychology Technician works as part of a team to implement and evaluate direct, consultative, or mediated models of service. The Psychology Technician supports a person to develop the skills needed to live a full and meaningful life using a person and family centered approach. This connects to all areas of intervention including assessments, treatment, and implementation of service. The Psychology Technician is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness and the efficiency of interventions to ensure outcomes that are positive and beneficial to the person and family.

This position is based out of 440 River Road, although some community visits may be required. 

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Psychology from a recognized university with course work in Applied Behaviour Analysis
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities/intellectual disabilities and/or autism for a minimum of two years
• Previous experience working within an interdisciplinary team is an asset
• Knowledge of the history of services to people with disabilities, current trends, philosophies and practices concerning their care, education and lifestyles
• A valid Manitoba driver's license and vehicle is necessary
• Ability to work flexible hours as necessary
• Strong computer capabilities with current software applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
