Site Description: Located in beautiful Londonderry, the Cobequid Pass rest area is a key part of Nova Scotia's transportation infrastructure, seeing tens of thousand of travelers pass through daily. Position Details: Position: Full-Time Security Guard Site : Cobequid Pass Overtime : After 48 hours weekly Hours : 4 day shifts, 4 days off, 4 night shifts (0600-1800;1800-0600hrs) Payrate : $20.63/hour

Key Responsibilities : Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, controlling access points, and enforcing security protocols.

Duties include:

• Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from the public.
• Patrol client properties by foot/vehicle to prevent unauthorized entry and politely direct disruptive individuals to leave the premises 
• Enforce rules and policies and control access to the facility
• Write clear and comprehensive reports including daily activity reports and incident reports 
• Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities 

Prerequisites:

• Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle
• Ability to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia
• Physical ability to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
• Valid Intermediate First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor)
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
