TD Wealth Private Wealth Management (PWM) offers high‑net‑worth clients holistic discovery and planning, delivering customized wealth advice and solutions. The TD Wealth Private Investment Advice (TDW PIA) program provides clients with a dedicated Investment Advisor who facilitates active participation in portfolio decisions.
Program Description
The Developing Investment Advisor Program is a specialized apprenticeship that builds expertise in technical, financial, and interpersonal areas. Participants receive coaching, training, and in‑branch support covering systems, products, services, business development, and practice management.
Accountabilities
- Build a client base of HNW and UHNWI clients, families, and business owners.
- Develop comprehensive wealth‑management and investment strategies based on client needs.
- Recommend portfolio construction, security selection, monitoring, and rebalancing to clients.
- Execute a business plan focused on prospecting, marketing, and pipeline development.
- Implement sales strategies to attract, acquire, and retain customers and referrals, driving profitability and growth.
- Foster productive relationships through the OneTD approach, connecting clients with TD partners for goal‑based advice across all products and services.
- Protect organizational interests by identifying and managing risks effectively.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in finance, business, economics, or a related discipline.
- Registered Representative with CIRO (currently licensed).
- Professional designations such as CFP, CIM, or CFA are considered assets.
- At least 3 years of client‑facing, sales, or relationship‑focused experience, preferably in mutual fund or brokerage environments.
- Deep knowledge of the investment landscape, markets, and portfolio management.
- Curiosity and dedication to staying current with industry trends and thought leadership.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and entrepreneurial skills.
- Proficiency with compliance requirements and ethical client service.
- Life Insurance License (LLQP) must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
