Shift: Full-Time Monday-Friday 1500-2300

Pay Rate: $19.49/hr

The Michener Institute of Education at UHN is Canada's only specialized institution dedicated exclusively to applied health sciences education. Job Description:

• Protect the safety of persons and their belongings on Michener property
• Respond to calls for service and security incidents; perform operational duties as assigned
• Notify the Site Supervisor of issues impacting service
• Complete accurate incident reports before shift end
• Restrict entry to secure areas to authorized persons only
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols; document conditions, safety concerns, and weather
• Monitor security consoles (access control, secure elevators, CCTV)
• Verify visitor and employee identification
• Manage lost and found and property/safekeeping
• Provide safety escorts to emergency contractors when required
• Assist with managing aggressive visitors (verbal and physical)
• Attend and respond to any event posing a security risk while providing strong customer service, respond to alarms
• Assist in preventing illicit substances or weapons; secure items and await TPS as instructed

Qualifications

• Minimum +2 years of experience in security
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB-approved)
• Proficient in English (oral and written)
• Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB Certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB Certification is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
