Senior Python Backend Engineer

Lead Python backend development for ACV’s VIN Decoder platform, working with AWS, Postgres, GCP BigQuery, and Redis. Standard Eastern Time hours support collaboration.

This Senior Software Developer role sits within Platform Engineering and addresses complex data engineering challenges. You will shape architecture, build services, and support reliable products. The work spans multi-cloud infrastructure, database design, asynchronous flows, and operational maturity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to technical vision and multi-cloud architecture decisions
• Develop Python APIs, services, and background workers
• Design scalable systems emphasizing reliability and performance
• Optimize schemas, indexes, and complex SQL queries
• Participate in on-call rotation and production support

Requirements:

• Seven-plus years programming in Python
• Five-plus years with AWS or GCP cloud platforms
• Five-plus years using Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing scalable, reliable systems from the ground up
• Strong unit testing, integration testing, and SQL optimization experience
