As an assistant superintendent within Pomerleau's civil engineering & infrastructure team, you will support the superintendent in coordinating on‑site activities to ensure smooth project execution. Working on large‑scale construction projects – ranging from 1.5 million dollars to over a billion dollars – you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the completion of the work by facilitating communication between teams and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

What you will do

• Support and provide leadership related to the environment, quality, and occupational health and safety: Participate in the implementation of current plans and promote best practices in safety and quality with resource persons.
• Participate in planning: Contribute to the development of the plan established by the site and the update of the master schedule.
• Proactive coordination: Participate in and initiate meetings with subcontractors and the project team to resolve issues.
• Schedule tracking: Collaborate in the preparation and monitoring of the 3‑week schedule with the project manager and supervisor.
• Supply management: Ensure the follow‑up of critical items to avoid delays.
• Technical expertise: Read and interpret plans, workshop drawings, and technical datasheets to validate deadlines and compliance.
• Budget compliance and optimization: Contribute to compliance with budgets and contractual requirements during the setup and maintenance of the site.
• Communication and representation: Serve as the point of contact for execution with internal and external partners.
• Mentoring and support: Guide and assist site team members in their daily tasks.

This Role Is For You If You Have

• 3 to 5 years of experience as an assistant superintendent
• A valid CCQ journeyman card
• Organizational and teamwork skills
• Excellent proficiency in reading plans and specifications as well as technological skills
