Service Supervisor - Mining

Liebherr-Canada is looking for senior Service Supervisors, to support a significant Mining project with Elk Valley Resources, owned by Glencore Canada, in Sparwood, British Columbia.

On this project, you will work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts, and with the opportunity for overtime on days off. Reporting to the National Service Manager, you will be responsible for the quality and quantity of safe work performed by the team through effective coaching, mentoring and communicating with personnel on work site.  This role requires a person with strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Electrical and Mechanical Technicians and apprentice Technicians
• Support Technicians with technical information / troubleshooting
• Ensure technicians are following safety all policies procedures for site and Liebherr
• Assist and provide input on all customer job scopes
• Maintains accurate inventory of onsite Liebherr tools
• Monitor and control cost effective purchasing of all consumables
• Provide leadership, support and representation for all site technicians
• Work closely with customer requests and concerns
• Prepare and implement equipment maintenance program (work with National Service Manager)
• Assign all work orders and jobs to technicians and monitor time- in and time- out on jobs
• Distribute and provide support for all technical improvement and service bulletins to technicians
• Supervise and oversee all contractors performing work on Liebherr equipment
• Ensure that technicians are completing repairs right the first time
• Other duties as assigned

Competencies

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in heavy equipment, mining or related fields as a Service Supervisor.
• Strong computer and administrative skills
• Strong organizational and project planning skills
• Proven diagnostic skills
• Positive leadership abilities
