Junior Cost Controller

Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a Junior Cost Controller to add to our team. This is a 1-year contract opportunity. Being bilingual in English/Mandarin is a highly preferred skill for the position.
Responsibilities
Development of weekly/monthly cost report and cost forecast
Set up and administration of monthly incurred cost flow
Setting of original budget and estimate recast
Ensure costs are tracked properly with appropriate use of WBS and coding
Change management coordination
Consolidation and development of week/month end cost and progress reporting
Qualifications
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in cost management, earned value, cash flows, invoice support, and performance measurement
Project Controls experience working on EPCM projects is a benefit
Working knowledge of Earned Value Measurement (EVM - ANSI EIA-748B) in engineering, procurement & construction
Cost engineering and estimating knowledge
General knowledge of, and the interrelationship of a good technical project scope definition, quality of the schedule and estimate, construction sequence and execution, procurement and contracting strategies, commissioning and start up
Capable of developing and maintaining control budget, and forecast EPC scopes of work
General understanding of cross-functional interfaces with engineering, procurement - materials & sub-contracts, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, and document control
Capable of managing impact of change & trends, CPI / SPI / MPI
Understanding of financial interface for expenditures, revenue recognition, invoicing, cash flow / cash calls
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and relationship building skills
Proven review skills, as well as presentation and facilitation skills
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
A university degree or diploma in engineering, business, or technical diploma
Technical and leadership training and project related seminars
Certification by PMI (PMP) and/or AACE or similar accredited project management institute an asset
