What will your typical day look like?

 

We are seeking an Analyst to join our Investigations & Disputes team. 

As an Analyst, you will:

• Work as part of multidisciplinary engagement teams to support investigations, disputes, forensic accounting, and financial crime engagements.
• Analyze financial, operational, and transactional data to identify key issues, trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
• Support the quantification of economic damages and other financial impacts arising from commercial disputes.
• Assist in conducting forensic accounting investigations involving fraud, corruption, misconduct, asset misappropriation, financial statement irregularities, and other dispute-related matters.
• Perform data analysis using a variety of tools and methodologies to generate insights and support investigative findings.
• Research industry, economic, and company-specific information to support client engagements and expert analyses.
• Assist in preparing working papers, presentations, and written reports for clients, legal counsel, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Develop effective communication and relationship-building skills through collaboration with clients, engagement teams, and subject matter experts.
• Continuously build technical knowledge in forensic accounting, financial investigations, quantification of damages, dispute resolution, data analytics, and financial crime risk management.
• Work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes learning, mentorship, and on-the-job coaching while building a foundation for professional growth and leadership.

About the team

 

Deloitte’s Investigations & Disputes team specializes in providing independent assessments of economic losses by performing financial analysis and utilizing accounting and business valuation techniques. The team also supports financial crime investigations involving fraud, corruption, financial misconduct, misappropriation of assets, and other regulatory matters.

We differentiate ourselves through the breadth and depth of our experience, as well as our deployment and application of technology accelerators and data analytics. Our goal is to make the complex simple, leading the way to successful dispute resolution.
Our Investigations & Disputes team is made up of specialists in forensic accounting, business valuation, financial analysis, data analytics and computer forensics. 

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

 

• An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• A demonstrated interest in pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation; candidates actively pursuing their CPA are highly preferred.
• An interest in pursuing additional professional credentials such as Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or Certified Financial Crime Specialist (CFCS), which are considered assets.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience in AI prompting and automating tasks through use of agents (using tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or other similar applications).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience conducting research, synthesizing information, preparing reports, and developing presentations. Fluency in French is required for candidates applying to roles in Quebec and is considered an asset for Ottawa-based candidates.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial analysis, financial modeling, market research, problem diagnosis, and solution development.
• Detail oriented with proven analytical skills and systematic problem-solving abilities (experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools is not required but considered an asset).
• A self-starter who is highly organized, adaptable, and motivated to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Naturally curious, comfortable with ambiguity.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Able to meet Government of Canada security clearance requirements.
• Willing to travel as required to support client engagements.

 

Quebec Location: We require basic English language skills to meet the needs of our clients. In the context of mandates, you could work for clients with activities outside of Quebec and where the first language is English

 

Ottawa Location: Employees in the Ottawa Strategy Risk and Transactions practice will be required to obtain “reliability” and/or “Secret” level federal security clearances as a condition of their employment. To be eligible for a "Reliability" status you must have resided in Canada for the last five (5) years and for "Secret" level, the last ten (10) years. 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $56,000.00 - $84,000.00, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
