Sr Research Associate, Analytical Operations

Gilead Sciences

Gilead Sciences seeks a Senior Research Associate in Analytical Operations to develop and validate analytical methods for small-molecule drug characterization and process development. The role involves experimental design, data analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute analytical methods and experiments for drug substance characterization and process development
Analyze experimental data, assess quality, investigate anomalies, and recommend scientifically sound solutions
Produce clear, traceable documentation and communicate results through reports and presentations
Collaborate across Analytical Development, Process Development, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to solve technical problems
Perform work in accordance with quality, safety, environmental standards and support continuous improvement

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 2+ years experience, or Master's degree in chemistry or related discipline
Hands-on experience with UPLC/HPLC, GC, LCMS, GCMS, NMR, DSC/TGA, or related analytical techniques
Knowledge of analytical testing in regulated laboratory settings
Strong data interpretation, problem-solving, and experimental design skills
Clear written and verbal communication abilities with presentation experience
Experience with organic synthesis and reaction mechanisms preferred
