Manager, Risk Management

Job Description

We are looking for a Manager, Risk Management to work closely with our partners in Transformation and Enterprise Operations (TEO) to ensure teams are compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements. The role will provide guidance to TEO teams to manage their Operational Risk, lead, direct, and oversee operational risk management activities to maintain an appropriate balance between risk and return, and drive valuable insights and recommendations to TEO leadership.

Responsibilities

• Complete Risk and Control Self-Assessments in accordance with RBC standards, including due diligence activities, gathering audit findings, regulatory review findings, control monitoring results, and documenting key control design and operational effectiveness.
• Conduct control assessments and testing to support the RBC Internal Controls Management Standard (ICMS), ensuring Key Risks and Key Controls are identified and managed.
• Report on monetary and non‑monetary Operational Risk Events, create reports for senior management, and review and challenge action plans.
• Identify issues and action plans in accordance with the ORM Standard, including Operational Risk Events, IT Issue Management Issues, KRIs, RCSAs, Control Assessments/testing, and Self‑Identified Issues.
• Analyze and communicate emerging operational risk areas, assist in producing reports and dashboards for senior leaders and executives.
• Review policy and procedure documentation, monitor compliance, and recommend advice and solutions related to RBC Enterprise Policy Management Requirements.
• Ensure completion of activities according to assessment plans and timelines, escalating items to meet due dates.

Must have

• 5–7 years of experience in Operations.
• Transferable experience in managing compliance and audit requirements.
• Strong written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities while producing quality results.
• Collaboration skills with the ability to work with diverse cross‑functional teams.
• Drive to achieve results and adapt to changing priorities.
