Director of Quality Assurance


The Director of Quality Assurance is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's food safety and quality management systems. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, customer standards, and company policies while driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product quality, food safety, and operational excellence.


Surrey / Langley based role



Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all quality assurance and food safety programs across manufacturing operations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA, CFIA, USDA, HACCP, SQF, BRCGS, and other industry standards as applicable.
• Maintain and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
• Oversee product quality standards, specifications, testing programs, and release procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local food safety regulations.
• Manage internal and external audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Manage customer quality requirements and respond to quality-related inquiries and complaints.
• Oversee root cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10+ years of progressive quality assurance and food safety experience within food manufacturing.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing quality teams.
• CFIA and USFDA experience

Salary in the 115-150,000 range depending on experience.
