The City of Grand Forks is seeking an individual for the position of Economic Development Employee.

This part-time exempt-term position (20 hours per week) offers a comprehensive benefits package. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer or designate, the successful candidate will support economic development initiatives within the community. The initial focus will be conducting research, stakeholder engagement, and a community gap analysis to identify opportunities, challenges, and priorities, and to develop an Economic Development Road Map to guide future initiatives.

The preferred candidate will possess the following education and competencies:

• Diploma or degree in Economic Development or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in economic development, project management, grant writing, community engagement, or related field.
• Experience researching and preparing grant applications.
• Strong research, analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard business applications.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
