Your new role
As a Plumbing Foreman/Forewoman, you will take a leading role on active construction sites, overseeing crews and ensuring that all plumbing and mechanical installations are completed safely, accurately, and in alignment with project requirements. You will manage a team of lead hands, journeypersons, and apprentices while also stepping in to perform Red Seal plumbing duties when needed. Your responsibilities will include planning and scheduling daily and weekly tasks, coordinating materials and equipment, and working closely with project leadership to uphold safety and quality standards. You will monitor progress on site, adjust human resources as required, interpret drawings and specifications, and ensure that mechanical components are installed promptly to maintain site efficiency. You will also provide guidance, training, and support to your team, helping to foster a positive and productive work environment.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong leadership skills and the ability to set the tone for your crew through professionalism and example. You will have a solid understanding of plumbing and mechanical systems, the ability to read and interpret all types of drawings, and the confidence to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. A minimum of six years of experience in the mechanical construction industry is required, along with Red Seal certification and previous experience as a Lead Hand or Foreperson. You will be organized, proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable using modern technology, including Microsoft Office. You will also be reliable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders. Canadian experience in a foreman capacity and legal entitlement to work in Canada are essential.
