The Position

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Dietitian applies evidence-based nutrition practice, harm reduction principles, and culturally safe approaches to support individuals experiencing complex medical, mental health, substance use, and social challenges. The role contributes to improved health outcomes, food security, chronic disease management, and overall quality of life for participants through collaborative care planning, client advocacy, and health promotion initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
  • Graduate of a Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship Program.
  • Two (2) years recent related clinical experience in community nutrition, primary care, public health, mental health and substance use, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for local area travel.
  • Successful Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check

Working Condition and Physical Requirements

  • Works with individuals who may be experiencing complex trauma, mental health concerns, substance use, behavioural challenges, and housing instability, requiring calm, compassionate, and professional responses.
  • Performs duties requiring extended periods of sitting, walking, computer use, and occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 20 lbs.
  • Requires flexibility to attend community meetings, outreach activities, or client appointments outside standard office hours as operationally required.
