Senior Hydrogeologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hydrogeologist in one of our regional offices (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, or Whitehorse). The role involves performing tasks and project‑management assignments associated with environmental impact assessments, hydrogeological studies, phased environmental site assessments (including subsurface investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, and monitoring projects), sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater, production of maps, data interpretation/evaluation, groundwater modeling (analytical and/or numerical), and deliverable preparation, as well as business‑development activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Lead business‑development activities, including proposals, pre‑qualifications, and client relationships.
• Analyze current and emerging technical issues and implement actions to address market, regulatory, and economic challenges.
• Identify new business opportunities and support technical components of business‑development materials.
• Plan and conduct independent assignments/projects with broad scope and coordination of complex tasks.
• Provide supervision, training, technical direction, and mentoring to intermediate and junior staff.
• Apply technical and business knowledge to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions for project issues.
• Execute specific technical tasks for medium to large projects and conduct peer reviews of work.
• Qualify as a Quality Reviewer and undertake quality reviews of deliverables.
• Conduct hydrogeological assessment and development projects, including field programs, drilling, sampling, and aquifer testing.
• Work with multi‑disciplinary teams on baseline, impact assessment, feasibility, compliance, contaminant investigation, permitting, and rehabilitation projects.
• Design and oversee hydrogeology field programs, including core logging, soil/bedrock sampling, groundwater sampling, and aquifer testing.
• Use groundwater modeling software (Leapfrog, Surfer, AQTESOLV, ModFlow, FEFLOW, MT3D, or similar) as an asset.
• Participate in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong commitment to safety and HSSE policies.
• Advanced technical writing skills.
• Excellent communication with clients, engineers, scientists, regulators, academia, and the public.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior staff.
• Experience with groundwater or surface water modeling software.
• Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence.
• Ability to provide written and verbal project direction.
• Leadership in continuous improvement of technical performance.
• Champion new ideas and initiatives.
• Network building with professional and personal contacts.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in Geoscience, Engineering, or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer/Geologist.
• Minimum 10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Comfortable with typical office environments and field work in remote communities and inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Part‑time compensation is pro‑rated.
