Client Support Services Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Health and Social Services, the Client Support Service Manager establishes the systems and processes that promote, protect and enhance the well-being of TTC citizens through a continuum of quality, accessible and appropriate health and social services. The position leads the development and delivery of the department’s Client Service Programs, and supervises the staff of the Wellness Outreach, Youth Cultural & Family Support teams. The Client Support Service Manager is the liaison for child welfare matters, working closely with the Director and keeping the Director informed on all child welfare files. The position also facilitates a Case Management approach with all key service providers within the Departments of TTC, coordinates comprehensive community-based services and provides mentorship to all department representatives involved in case management. In this role, the incumbent will make a positive difference in the lives of children and families in the Teslin community and among TTC citizens living in Whitehorse

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, delivery and day-to-day administration of the department’s client service programs, including Case Management, Adult Protection, and TTC Safe Home support services and programming;
• Oversee outreach program delivery in Teslin and Whitehorse, including Reaching Home, Wellness Outreach and Family Support, in collaboration with the Team Lead and outreach staff;
• Provide regular, dedicated supervision to the Wellness Outreach & Family Support Team Lead and outreach staff, including planning and follow-up review of casework;
• While the Director is the initial point of contact for child welfare cases, ongoing child welfare matters will be handled by the Manager, keeping the Director informed of all active child welfare files and emerging concerns;
• Establish a clear and comprehensive system to ensure that each client is provided an actionable plan to address personal/family issues that are impacting their life, including counselling, action steps and a timeline within which the steps will be accomplished. Clients will be involved in every aspect of the design of their plans and will sign off to indicate their agreement and commitment.
• Bachelor or Master of Social Work that includes assessment and counselling skills is essential, providing individual and group work
• Social work experience and/or practicum in providing services to families, children and individuals.
• Prior child/welfare/intervention experience within the last three years may be considered an asset.
• A minimum of five years working in a First Nation environment providing social services to clients using a Case Management model.
• Experience working as a Case Manager is a preferred asset.

Education & Experience:

NOTE: If your Bachelor of Social Work Degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through any member of the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Service of Canada (ACESC)
