Client Analytics Specialist - BMO Capital Markets

Client-Level Reporting and Business Insights

Client Analytics is a professional services team within BMO Capital Markets. This role is integral to the group's mandate of providing client-level reporting, analytics, and business insights to senior executives, front-line relationship managers, and product managers, with the objective of assisting them to make proactive decisions to maximize enterprise profitability.

Knowledge and Skills

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, physics, mathematics, statistics, or computer science
• Familiarity with database design and queries (Oracle/SQL) with a desire to learn
• Specific academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with outstanding academic achievement
• Programming skills an asset, but not required (Python, JavaScript, VBA)
• Understanding of financial pricing models and valuation of derivative products
• Solid knowledge of financial theory and risk management concepts
• Ability to attentively review, assess, and provide detailed information daily on multiple projects in an organized manner
• Able to exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks with little notice
• Strong research and analytical skills and proven problem solver
• Self-starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated with excellent analytical skills and the ability to independently resolve complex business problems
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and develop strong relationships at all levels across the organization to support the effective execution of business initiatives

Key Accountabilities

• Aggregating, organizing, and analyzing trade data to facilitate a wide range of reporting, from high-level business overviews down to trade-level details
• Interacting and building relationships with various groups across the firm (trading desks, risk management, middle office, finance, etc.)
• Troubleshooting and solving problems within a very short timeframe
• Providing recommendations and information to senior-level business partners concerning the implementation of strategic initiatives, the structuring of transactions, product development, and the remediation and/or development of infrastructure capabilities

Client Analytics works closely with groups across Capital Markets and the enterprise, in particular the sales and trading desks of Global Markets, and the Data Cognition Team. This position will also include frequent interaction with Technology & Operations, Market Risk, and Finance.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 up to $95,000 CAD (subject to negotiation and subject to the candidate meeting the specific skills, experience, education, and qualification requirements)

$44,500.00 - $82,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
