What does the job involve?

The role is a permanent Asset Integrity Engineer position in Exploration & Production International (EPI) Canada Operations and Maintenance, based in St. John’s. The role will support project development activities to ensure designs, systems, and contractor deliverables meet technical integrity, safety, regulatory, and operations readiness requirements. It is suited to an Engineering graduate with 2+ years of relevant experience, strong communication and adaptability, and a focus on safety, collaboration, ethics, and readiness for future offshore asset operations.

During the development phase of the project, this position will be embedded in a discipline engineering group. The primary focus will be supporting the discipline engineering follow up processes. An important aim for the role will be to build the requisite knowledge and experience needed to fulfill the technical integrity and facilities engineering goals once the asset begins operations.

What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

• Verify design elements and systems follow local regulations and guidance and specifically, expected operational technical integrity outcomes.

• Support discipline engineering reviews of design, construction, and contractor documentation (e.g., P&IDs, package specifications, action registers, technical queries and non-conformance reports).

• Support discipline engineering follow-up of life cycle information (LCI) deliveries.

• Develop collaborative working relationships with contractors’ discipline engineering and pre-operations counterparts.

• Risk workshops and reviews participation (i.e., HAZID, HAZOP, MOC, LOPA).

• Participate in site inspections, milestone audits and package system acceptance tests.

• Participate in development of both the design and operational SECE performance standards.

• Support the development of the contractor’s Technical Integrity Management plan and processes and their implementation through such software tools as: the maintenance management system, RBI and RCM programs, and analytical dashboards.

• Follow up contractor’s key operations readiness deliverables such as maintenance plan, sparing and obsolescence plan, critical operational tasks, management system and standard operating procedures.

• St John’s, Canada - travel to international sites (as needed).

• Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Newfoundland and Labrador. Professional Engineering designation (or eligible to obtain designation).

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.

• Familiarity with how safety and environmental critical element (SECE) performance is verified and supported in an operational environment.

• Familiarity of safety in design principles and technical integrity management processes.

• Supporting the operations of Newfoundland and Labrador offshore oil and gas assets.

• Interpreting and applying the C-NLOER Offshore Area Petroleum Offshore Framework regulations.

• Familiarity with international technical standards and Classification Society rules.
