Position Summary This position is responsible for providing oversight and guidance in the delivery of a variety of work performed in the Food Services Department. The Senior Food Services Worker B, under the direction of the Food Services Manager, provides supervision to employees engaged in a variety of market, cafeteria, catering, dishwashing, service and cashiering work. Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides orientation to new casual employees.

• Provides training on market, or cafeteria and cashiering operations.

• Reconciles all cashiers' daily sales, balances floats, completes daily reconciliation and over/under reports for review, and prepares bank deposits.

• Supports the maintenance of the POS system, adding and deleting items or users, price changes and reports. Resolves concerns with vendors as needed.

• Liaising with the Coordinator, Catering and Food Services, ensures the timely preparation, delivery and clean-up of food and beverage for scheduled catering functions.

• Provides information and assistance to customers, responding effectively and efficiently to resolve customer concerns.

• Oversees the merchandising of display cases, dispensing machines, and coolers; determines supply levels and places orders, ensuring that sufficient food and beverage items are available for sale in the cafeteria.

• Assists with inventory control; oversees quarterly inventory counts in the cafeteria.

• Oversees the flow of supplies from the storeroom to the market or cafeteria, catering, retail food areas ensuring appropriate levels are maintained.

• Ensures appropriate standards of sanitation and safety are maintained within the market or cafeteria, catering and retail food areas. Participates in general cleaning duties and completes weekly sanitation audit.

• Ensures necessary cleaning agents are available in the dishwashing/pot washing areas.

• Ensures proper storage and maintenance of equipment, communicating concerns with the equipment coordinator.

• Assists with market or cafeteria operations as required.

• Wears supplied uniform at all times.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications Education and Experience

• Completion of Grade 12 including 1 year of specialized training and 1-year related experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience may be substituted for the required qualifications.
FOODSAFE Level 1.

• Proven interpersonal skills with the ability work collaboratively as a member of a team and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty and the general public.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach. Ability to provide information and assistance in a pleasant and helpful manner and deal effectively with customer complaints.
• Supervisory experience with the ability to guide and assist a moderately large staff engaged in a variety of cafeteria, catering, dishwashing, service, and cashiering work.
• Proficient in computerized cash register operation, receipt and recording of cash payments, making correct change, balancing receipts, making deposits and maintaining daily cash float.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in operating practices and procedures in a food services area.
• Ability to maintain a variety of computerized records, reports and statistics related to work performed in a retail setting.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with experience using FOOD-TRAK and Profitek systems.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Stellar attendance and punctuality.
