Guest Experience & Events Coordinator 

(18 Month Term)

The Municipal District of Bonnyville No. 87 invites applications for a Temporary Guest Experience & Events Coordinator . This position leads guest experience initiatives, event operations, bookings, and resort hospitality programs. This role oversees weddings, group bookings, and special events, ensuring exceptional service from the initial inquiry through to event completion. This position fosters strong relationships with clients and the community and collaborates closely with the Marketing & Communications Department to promote resort services and strengthen guest engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage resort bookings, including weddings, private functions, corporate events, school groups, and community events.
• Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing support throughout the planning, execution, and follow-up stages.
• Develop event plans, schedules, timelines, and operational requirements to ensure successful event delivery.
• Conduct site tours, prepare quotes, and assist guests with event planning and decision-making.
• Coordinate event logistics, including staffing requirements, setup, internal communication, and vendor coordination.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with guests, vendors, businesses, schools, community organizations, and partners.
• Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Department on promotions, campaigns, guest communications, and event marketing.
• Identify opportunities to improve guest experience, increase bookings, and develop new revenue opportunities.
• Maintain accurate booking records, contracts, event documentation, and reports.
• Monitor guest feedback and support continuous improvement of resort services and experiences.
• Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise seasonal and casual event staff.
• Ensure all events and guest activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to resort standards.
• Stay current with hospitality, tourism, and event industry trends and best practices.
• Support operational continuity by serving as a backup to the Team Lead I, Food & Beverage, and performing the duties of that role as required.
• Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as required.

Qualifications:

• Three or more years’ experience in guest services, hospitality, tourism, recreation, event coordination, or a related supervisory role.
• Experience coordinating weddings, corporate events, group bookings, or guest-focused programs is considered an asset.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with guests, vendors, partners, and community organizations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate staff.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with booking systems, event software, or customer relationship management systems is considered an asset.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Ability to hold oneself accountable as well as others within the team.
• First Aid training.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
• Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
