Emergency Medicine Physician at Cowichan District

Elevate your career as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Cowichan District Hospital. This opportunity offers full-time and part-time positions with a focus on diverse shifts and patient care in a busy Emergency Department. Join a dynamic team of ED physicians with CCFP-EM and FRCP certification. You will engage with around 125 patients daily and support the Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit (RADU). Positions involve a mix of Emergency Department and RADU shifts, with coverage ensuring collaborative patient care throughout the day. Key Responsibilities:

• Work various Emergency Department shifts including overnight and late evening
• Support the RADU managing patients likely to be discharged quickly
• Participate in teaching medical students and residents
• Cover shifts with double and triple physician coverage
• Engage in pre-deployment readiness for military personnel

Requirements:

• CCFP-EM, FRCPC, ABEM or equivalent certification
• Full Licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of BC
• Experience in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support desired
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred
• Commitment to ongoing education and team collaboration
