The Opportunity
We are seeking a Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead safety, training, and risk functions for an extension project.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health, safety, and risk management systems and procedures
- Provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to Health & Safety, Training, and Risk teams
- Manage risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring processes
- Conduct safety audits and contractor evaluations, ensuring compliance with legislation and project standards
- Lead or support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain and oversee emergency preparedness programs
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory inspections (MOL, WSIB, etc.)
- Deliver safety reports, performance metrics, and communications
What You Bring
- Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Health & Safety
- Minimum 5+ years in Health, Safety & Risk management
- Leadership experience managing teams and safety programs
- Experience in mining or underground operations is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Ontario OH&S legislation and safety systems
