Shipper Warehouse Associate

Job Responsibility:
CareHawk manufactures life safety communication systems for education, healthcare, corrections and other vertical markets. Our products are sold in North America. Our rapidly growing organization is looking for an experienced shipper to contribute to continuous customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfilment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Load, unload and move material and products by hand or using material handling equipment
- Ensure products are picked accurately and packaged appropriately for shipping
- Examine and inspect all outgoing shipments
- Ship products of varied dimensions and weight
- Ship all outbound shipments via parcel or carton freight/LTL
- Coordinate shipping, including carton freight/LTL truck deliveries, with production timelines and customer requirements
- Responsible for the printing of packing slip, bills of lading and customs papers within a timely manner
- Ensure all paperwork/labels properly secured on all outgoing boxes/packages
- Use scale to weigh shipments and record information
- Ability to navigate through courier PC software systems, such as FedEx, Purolator and UPS to create and schedule shipments
- Ensure optimal, organized and safe storing of products within the warehouse
- Maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
- Adhere to Quality procedures
- Maintain and organize work area for a smooth and efficient workplace
- Follow all applicable Health and Safety codes, standards, legislation and policies and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years' experience
- Must have knowledge of international shipping (NAFTA, Commercial Invoicing, Foreign and Export Declaration)
- Must be computer literate
- Familiar with carton freight with LTL
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Friendly and professional telephone manner
- Knowledge of standard safety practices
- Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision
- Can work efficiently under pressure
- Able to communicate effectively with couriers, customers and colleagues
- Self starter with good organizational skills
- Able to carry out the duties of the position
- Able to lift up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to withstand extensive standing throughout the day
