About the Opportunity

• Generates and reviews daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to costing, production, and inventory, including analysis of yields, utility consumption, and labour metrics, ensuring compliance with plant objectives, corporate policies, and GAAP.
• Partners with plant leadership to assess variances between actual and standard costs, including finished goods, raw materials, and work-in-progress. Evaluates and communicates the financial impact of labour, yield, material, and purchase price variances on overall plant performance.
• Supports operational teams on cost, productivity, and process improvement initiatives by providing ongoing financial analysis and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Oversees the accuracy and completeness of month-end physical inventory counts. Performs reconciliations across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods, and analyzes inventory, production, and sales data to explain significant cost or volume fluctuations.
• Prepares monthly operational summaries and collaborates with the Controller on the month-end reporting package. Contributes to special projects as required, including internal control reviews and audit support.
• Completes month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of financial reporting schedules.
• Ensures adherence to corporate reporting standards within the plant, maintaining accurate, consistent, and transparent financial information to support clear visibility into operational performance.

About You

• A diploma/degree in accounting or finance;
• 2 years of cost accountant experience within an integrated manufacturing environment;
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and Advanced knowledge with Excel (must be strong with Pivot Tables and file linking);
• Knowledge of financial/operational ERP System (experience with AS400 considered an asset).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills – able to work with cross-functional teams on the shop floor and in the office;
• Self-starter who is proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.

Pay Range
$65,000 - $75,000 / year.
