Accounting Manager - Consumer Goods

Overview We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established consumer goods and apparel brand in the Markham area seeking an experienced Accounting Manager. Dual-reporting into the Controller and CFO, this position oversees the day-to-day corporate finance function while directly supervising a dedicated transactional team of four AP and AR specialists. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, month-end financial close, and trial balance maintenance
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of four accounts payable and accounts receivable team members
• Monitor inventory accounting, valuation, land-cost tracking, and variance analysis across product lines
• Assist executive leadership with cross-border financial activities, including basic oversight and coordination for US tax compliance
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, intercompany transactions, and bank statements
• Partner with the CFO and Controller on cash flow management, budgeting, and financial reporting enhancements

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with previous supervisory or team leadership experience
• Prior industry background within consumer goods, apparel, retail, or wholesale distribution is an advantage
• Solid grasp of inventory management principles and cost accounting
• Working knowledge or exposure to US tax compliance is an asset
• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or active progress toward completion is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of developing staff

Compensation
