ECE Assistant- 1:1 Inclusion Support

Position Summary: A direct support to a child with high support needs in an inclusive early learning environment, ensuring the safe and effective implementation of the child's Personalized Program Plan while promoting participation, independence, development, and safety. Work collaboratively with educators, families, and supporting professionals to support the child's individual goals.
Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent one-to-one support to the assigned child throughout daily routines and activities. Ensure the child's safety, supervision, and inclusion. Implement strategies, accommodations, and goals outlined in the child's Personalized Program Plan. Support the child's social, emotional, physical, communication, and cognitive development. Encourage independence while providing assistance appropriate to the child's needs. Monitor, document, and communicate observations regarding the child's progress and well-being. Adapt activities, materials, and the environment to support successful participation. Follow behaviour support and intervention strategies as directed by the child's support team. Collaborate with families, educators, consultants, and other professionals to ensure consistent implementation of strategies. Participate in meetings - contribute relevant observations and feedback. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all childcare policies and procedures
Qualifications: Early Childhood Education certification, Early Childhood Assistant training, or equivalent experience. Experience supporting children with diverse needs. Current First Aid/CPR certification. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of child development and inclusive practices. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all children.
