Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for an Instrumentation & Controls Designer in the Engineering sector in Calgary, Alberta.We are seeking a Senior to Principal Instrumentation & Controls Designer to provide technical leadership and deliver high-quality I&C design solutions for major industrial projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the full project lifecycle, from concept and FEED through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning, while mentoring junior team members and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.Key Highlights

Coordinate design activities with process, electrical, mechanical, piping, and automation disciplinesProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to design team membersSupport project planning, progress reporting, quality reviews, and design assurance activitiesDevelop and review instrumentation and controls design deliverables across all project phasesPrepare and review P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, and control documentationSupport procurement, vendor reviews, construction activities, and commissioning effortsIdentify design risks, resolve technical issues, and manage design changesParticipate in constructability, operability, maintainability, and process safety reviewsRequirements
Hold an Engineering Technology, Design, or related technical qualificationDemonstrate significant experience in Instrumentation & Controls design within industrial environmentsPossess strong expertise in developing and reviewing complex I&C deliverablesApply experience gained within EPC, engineering consulting, owner/operator, or major project organizationsInterpret and coordinate technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation independentlyParticipate in HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety studiesCommunicate effectively with clients, vendors, project teams, and stakeholdersHold a CET or AScT designation or be eligible for registration, considered an asset
