Software Development Engineer II Role
Remitly Canada Operations
Contribute to Remitly’s mission as a Software Development Engineer II, focusing on backend systems for fraud detection and identity verification. Work in a collaborative, innovative environment. As part of the Trust Platform team, your role involves developing systems that empower Remitly to maintain compliance and security. You will enhance the efficiency of KYC processes, regulatory reporting, and fraud detection systems. Collaborating with various teams, you will ensure that all products meet high standards for user experience and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Build core services for the Trust Platform
- Ensure backend system reliability and security
- Collaborate on defining technical and regulatory needs
- Fully own features from architecture to implementation
- Grow through mentorship and complex design exposure
- 3–5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with backend systems in production
- Strong system design and performance skills
- Proficiency in programming languages like Java or Python
- Familiarity with AWS and service-oriented architecture
