Intermediate Instrumentation Controls Engineer

Apply instrumentation and controls expertise at Trans Mountain’s Calgary Head Office, supporting full-time pipeline projects in an in-office setting.As an Intermediate I&C Engineer, you will provide technical oversight and engineering support for sustaining capital projects. The contract role supports pipeline facilities, pump stations, terminals, tank farms, and related midstream infrastructure. You will act as the Owner’s representative across planning, design, construction, commissioning, and startup.Key Responsibilities:
Review instrumentation and controls deliverables from consultants and EPC contractorsVerify compliance with codes, standards, regulations, and company practicesProvide technical input on control, automation, and safety systemsParticipate in HAZOPs, SIL assessments, and design reviewsSupport construction, commissioning, startup, FATs, and SATsRequirements:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, or control systems engineeringAlberta or British Columbia P.Eng. designation or registration eligibilitySeven-plus years of instrumentation and controls engineering experiencePipeline, terminal, pump station, or industrial infrastructure experienceKnowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS, RTU, and SIS systemsBring technical review, controls engineering, and project support expertise to Trans Mountain’s critical energy infrastructure.
