Forestry Technician — Intermediate or Senior

Amabilis Forestry Consulting is looking for a Forestry Technician to join our small team in the South Cariboo.

We’re ideally looking for an experienced technician, but we’re open to the right person at either an intermediate or senior level.

The Position

• Full-time, based in 100 Mile House
• Primarily field-based with some office work
• Local South Cariboo projects — home every night
• Opportunity to take ownership of your work and projects
• Compensation based on experience and qualifications: $25 – $35/Hr.  based on experience and skills
• Flexible vacation time

Responsibilities

• Timber cruising and forest inventory
• Block layout and reconnaissance
• Road layout and assessment
• Forest development and harvest planning
• GPS and field data collection
• Silviculture and forestry assessments
• Mapping, GIS and project reporting

What We’re Looking For

• RFT or RPF designation, or relevant forestry education and experience
• Valid driver’s licence
• Experience with ArcGIS, RoadEng, LRM. Microsoft Office is an asset
• Self-starter with good communication skills
• Takes pride in quality work
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Team player with a good sense of humour
