ABOUT THE ROLE
Join the Outpatient Program Team at St. Joseph’s Care Group! You will have the opportunity to provide care to clients presenting with challenges related to communication and swallowing in an outpatient setting. This role will also all you make a difference in the lives of children and adults living with a cochlear implant.
This position is ideal for clinicians who are motivated to learn, grow and enhance their clinical learning in a fast-paced and supportive healthcare environment. Come and be part of our compassionate and caring team who work together everyday to provide high-quality, personalized care to the people of northwestern Ontario.

WHAT YOU BRING
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Maintains active registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to manage a clinical practice within an outpatient healthcare setting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively in both verbal and written formats to clients, caregivers, and team members.
- Commitment to contributing clinical expertise within a collaborative, team-based environment focused on individualized client care.
- Ability to work independently while aligning personal performance goals with organizational objectives.
- Excellent time management and sound decision-making skills, with a proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Solid understanding of and adherence to personal health information confidentiality requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of evidence-informed practices relevant to the role.
- Interest in and engagement with Quality Improvement initiatives, including applying improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Assets:
- Experience assessing and treating adult clients living with acquired speech, swallowing, and voice disorders
- Knowledge about auditory verbal therapy practices an cochlear implants
- Current registration as an Individual Authorizer
- Experience with dysphagia assessment and management
- Experience with videoflouroscopic swallow study, including Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile (MBSImP)
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
