Director of Accounting in Toronto

Lead the transformation of accounting at a global company in Toronto with this hybrid Director role. Own the Global General Ledger, ensuring accuracy and accountability every step of the way.

In this crucial position, you will engage with the VP of Controllership, overseeing the entire financial close under US GAAP. Your responsibilities include building scalable processes, enhancing balance sheet quality, and preparing insights into P&L and balance sheets that inform strategic decisions. You will play a key role in fostering a high-performing team culture while managing complex accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities: • Own global financial closes for all entities under US GAAP • Lead the development of an efficient accounting close model • Deliver monthly and quarterly P&L and balance sheet analyses • Provide technical accounting support for growth initiatives • Regularly enhance processes through automation and AI

Requirements: • Fully qualified accountant with relevant certifications • Substantial experience in financial accounting leadership • Proven track record in leading qualified accounting teams • Deep understanding of US GAAP principles • Experience managing complex multi-entity business
