Relief Pharmacist

About the Role

This Pharmacy Technician role reports to the Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescription medication accurately and on time. The position supports customer care, inventory management, public health outreach, and training for pharmacy colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely to patients.
• Ensure adequate inventory levels of medications and supplements to meet patients’ needs.
• Counsel patients regarding new or additional medications in a friendly, positive and proactive manner.
• Create awareness and educate customers through public relations activities (public health days, clinics, etc.).
• Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and physicians’ requests/issues.
• Review and control costs at all levels within the pharmacy dispensary.
• Provide ongoing training for new and existing pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPGs).
• Be responsible for receiving, preparing and delivering prescriptions and clinical services within scope of practice accurately and timely.
• Travel regularly as required and maintain reliable transportation.
• Work at a variety of pharmacies as needed, rather than a single fixed location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacy license (required).
• Superior customer relations skills and strong professionalism.
• Excellent leadership and performance management skills.
• Proven ability to build the business using community-based marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, including experience in formulating and executing action plans.
• Strong personal computing skills and knowledge of Healthwatch and/or Kroll Pharmacy systems (asset).

Additional Information

Hiring Range: $44.00 – $60.60 per hour. The company may use artificial intelligence for screening, assessing and selecting applicants. Candidates who are 18 years or older are required to complete a criminal background check.
