Job Overview
You will work on a flexible hybrid schedule as part of Fidelity’s dynamic working arrangement. The role is based at 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, after which the work location will shift to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Technical Lead, directing the execution and delivery of technology solutions and continuous improvements across Fidelity’s application landscape, in close collaboration with architecture teams and in alignment with enterprise standards and best practices.
- Modernize core systems by working with architecture partners to evolve legacy platforms toward scalable, resilient, and future‑ready solutions.
- Partner closely with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality application solutions that meet technical and business objectives.
- Collaborate with business teams to break down complex initiatives into well‑defined deliverables, provide accurate estimates for scope, timelines, and resourcing, recommend technical approaches, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Lead by example in engineering excellence by continually assessing code quality, architecture alignment, and operational risk to ensure robust, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Take ownership of producing and reviewing clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation that supports long‑term sustainability and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the reliability of Fidelity Canada’s application portfolio by supporting day‑to‑day operations, including participation in the on‑call rotation, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve stability, performance, and supportability.
- Analyze code quality and continually assess risk to ensure that high‑quality solutions are delivered.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a full‑stack developer.
- Minimum 2 years working in a team‑lead capacity (asset).
- Experience with TypeScript/Node or Java/Spring Boot on the backend, and TypeScript/React/Angular on the frontend.
- Strong experience building and designing systems.
- Experience in the financial industry (asset).
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Excelling written and verbal communication skills.
- Independent and self‑motivating with strong analytical skills and creative thinking.
- Exceptional organization skills for planning objectives and meeting team goals.
- Skilled negotiator to streamline and solve problems effectively.
- Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings.

- Base Salary range: $135,000 to $152,000 annually, plus discretionary performance bonus.
