CNC Programmer/ Operator - afternoon shift

Our business strategy leverages world-class technologies, motivated and talented people and high-quality products.Our Mission is to Make People's Lives Better by:Delivering outstanding quality products and services to our customers.Providing meaningful opportunity, job satisfaction and job security for our people.Being positive contributors to our communities, andProviding superior long term investment returns to our stakeholders.Job Summary:Responsible for operating the CNC machineRequired Qualifications:Good communicator in the English language, both written and oral Must have grade 12 educationMinimum 5 years of automotive experience or college diploma/certificate in CNC courseMust have their own tools for setup (i.e. dial indicator, edge finder, etc) or willing to purchaseAbility to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful mannerAble to read engineering designs and drawingsMust be competent to operate an overhead crane in a safe manner/will be trained in our facilityMust have good computer skillsMust be able to do 2D and 3D programmingKnowledge in Mastercam and Key Creator an assetMust have safety shoesResponsibilities:Machining components to print, supervision and instructions, mill, radial drill, surface grinderAble to produce components to the tolerances specified on the designs and drawingsResponsible to maintain and record set up and run timesMust physically inspect completed product to computer data for dimensional correctness before releasing it for use.Responsible for maintaining clean work area.Keeping CNC recordsResponsible for lubrication of machines per preventive maintenance instructionsRecord daily job numbers and hours on punch cardOther duties required to accommodate the customerAbility to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful mannerAble to read engineering designs and drawingsMust be competent and licensed to operate an overhead crane in a safe manner/will be trained in our facilityReport any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisorRecord and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as requiredComply with Quality Assurance policies and proceduresParticipate and contribute to effective production efficiencyPrepare all programming for CNC and laser from final die designsAct as a liaison between Engineering and CNC DepartmentAct as a liaison between Tool Room and CNC DepartmentTrack and resolve issues brought forward from Tool roomReport all scheduling concerns to your managerEmployee RelationsCommunicate effectively with employees and management staff as requiredPerform compulsory overtime as necessary and in accordance with legislative requirementsPerform other duties as assigned by your supervisorComply, ensure and enforce Rules of Conduct (Sign off agreement) in your hire packageProvide and/or participate in training as requiredComply with company rules, regulations and policies as stated in the Employee Handbook Comply with the Employee Standards Act, 2000Health and Safety ResponsibilitiesMust comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) particularly the "Duties of Workers" as stated in section 28Must comply with Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures according to Martinrea Employee HandbookMust use/wear equipment, personal protective equipment or certain clothing as required by the companyComply with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)Comply with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)Beware of moving lift trucks at all timesAll employees are prohibited from working under dies which are suspended from hoists, cranes or forkliftsQuality Assurance:Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your supervisorRecord and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as requiredComply with Quality Assurance policies and proceduresParticipate and contribute to effective production efficiencyMartinrea International Inc. is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process.
