The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Measurement Technician to join our Canada Gas Operations team supporting the Big Sky Area in Medicine Hat AB who is proficient in repairing installing troubleshooting and performing planned maintenance and corrective tasks on assigned electronic pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems devices and ancillary equipment.

The successful candidate will also operate and maintain natural gas measurement and instrumentation equipment in a manner that meets operational needs ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This individual must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision who possesses excellent troubleshooting problem solving and communication skills.

The regular work schedule for this position will be:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day

Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday

What youll do

• Support natural gas measurement equipment (flow/pressure control systems RTUs orifice meters Coriolis meters ultrasonic meters hydrocarbon dewpoint analyzers H2S analyzers)

• Other systems and equipment relevant to the pipeline system

• Perform valve maintenance

• Perform emergency repairs to meet customer and client needs

• Interpret technical reference documents drawings and vendor manuals

• Lead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low/medium complexity projects including the coordination and monitoring of contractor work activities or third-party active control

• Ensure facilities personnel and contractors comply with TC Energys safety health environment and risk standards

• Provide coaching mentoring and training to other personnel

• Complete work orders enter data into job plans create new work orders SAP

• Support Compression Team during plant outages/turnarounds

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma

• 2 years of related Industry experience

• Journeyman Electrician certification and/or Journeyman Instrumentation certification

• 3-5 years of years of related industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Instrumentation and/or valve maintenance experience

This position requires candidates to:

• Have and maintain a valid drivers license and provide a drivers abstract for review

• Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening to include drug and alcohol testing

• Carry a Company provided cell phone and work a rotating on-call schedule

• Be subject to call out 24 hours a day 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes

• Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home

• Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures and cramped conditions
