About the Role
We're looking for a skilled Intermediate Full Stack Developer to join our in-house development team. You'll play a key role in building, maintaining, and optimizing our web and mobile platforms. You'll work closely with designers, product managers, and other developers to build scalable, user-centric solutions in a serverless AWS environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Step.co's web and mobile applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code across front-end and back-end
- Design and implement serverless architectures using AWS services
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Ensure responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Participate in code reviews and help establish best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Experience with AWS services including DynamoDB, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and Cognito
- Familiarity with serverless architecture and tools (e.g., AWS SAM, Serverless Framework)
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL (preferably AWS AppSync)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must be based in Vancouver and work from our office
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile app development using React Native
- Knowledge of fitness, health tech, or content streaming platforms
- Familiarity with AWS Amplify
