Job Title: Welder / Fitter (Structural & Pipe)

Job Type: Full-Time / Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Fitter and a high-precision Welder (or a dual-role Fabricator ) to join our production team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end assembly of metal structures, from reading complex blueprints to performing code-compliant welds. Whether you are fitting 36" pipe or welding structural I-beams, we value safety, accuracy, and a "first-time right" mentality.

Key Responsibilities

For Fitters:

• Blueprint Reading: Interpret 2D/3D schematics and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Layout & Assembly: Measure, cut, and align metal components using squares, levels, and lasers.
• Tack Welding: Use MIG or Stick to "tack" components in place for final welding.
• Rigging: Safely move large materials using overhead cranes and forklifts.

For Welders:

• Fusion Excellence: Perform high-quality welds using MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), or Stick (SMAW) processes.
• Out-of-Position Work: Execute vertical, horizontal, and overhead welds with consistent penetration.
• Self-Inspection: Use gauges and mirrors to check for undercut, porosity, or slag before the QC inspector arrives.
• Material Prep: Clean, grind, and bevel joints to ensure maximum weld integrity.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years in a fabrication shop or industrial construction environment.
• Certifications: AWS (American Welding Society) certification preferred (e.g., D1.1 or B2.1).
• Technical Skills: Proficient in using torches, plasma cutters, and grinders.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
• Safety First: Mastery of PPE requirements and fire safety protocols.
