Build AI systems as a Senior Software Engineer in Asana’s Vancouver office, using distributed systems expertise and technical leadership. Work follows an office-centric hybrid schedule.Asana is expanding AI engineering teams across its human-agent operating system and AI Suite. Depending on team placement, you may shape agentic runtime architecture, evaluation and safety infrastructure, or customer-facing builders and canvas surfaces. Drive architecture and delivery across medium-to-large AI roadmap projectsDesign performant systems for agentic execution and model orchestrationBreak ambiguous product visions into engineering milestones and tasksWrite design documents, establish testing norms, and run retrospectivesMentor engineers and align direction with cross-functional partnersRequirements:
Six or more years designing production distributed systemsExperience with microservices or complex full-stack architecturesTechnical leadership across multiple services or codebasesInterest or experience in LLMs, RAG, or evaluation pipelinesExperience driving multi-contributor projects from ambiguity to deliveryLead Asana’s AI engineering work through architecture, distributed systems, technical mentorship, and customer-focused decision-making in Vancouver.
