Specialized is seeking an experienced retail leader to manage our Store in New Westminster, BC. The Store Manager balances excellence in retail operations with a passion for the brand, ensuring outstanding customer experiences and operational excellence.

Job Summary

A critical member of the specialized retail network, the Store Manager balances excellence in retail operations with a passion for the power of a great brand. The Store Manager maintains the culture of the business and sets the tone of the store. The ideal candidate has a consistent record encouraging successful, profitable retail, and wants to take that expertise to the next level as a driver of outstanding brand experiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive overall profitability of the retail store, covering and exceeding run costs to maximize contribution to topline revenue.
• Exemplify outstanding methodologies for staff and local operators.
• Convey transformative, inclusive, ride-focused, locally-authentic and collaborative experiences for staff and riders inside and out.
• Host tours of the space for retailers, explaining processes and outstanding methodologies.
• Manage performance and talent of all current employees, including scheduling and shift coverage.
• Educate staff (in‑house training, SBCU, and SBCU.com facilitation) and maintain product knowledge.
• Establish and sustain long‑term relationships with key riders and retailers based on data about preferences, behaviors, and purchases.
• Uphold cleanliness and organizational standards for the sales floor and office space.
• Manage special orders and home deliveries to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain staff direction and communication when manager is absent.
• Evaluate employee performance and serve as the first point of contact for in‑store issues.
• Set development, store‑wide, and company‑wide goals with each team member.
• Operate within the rules of the company (Specialized Retail LLC) and ensure alignment with product standards.

Qualifications

• Experience and passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
• Current or former retail employee with 1+ years of experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with riders and team members.
• Ability to work business hours, including weekends.
• Ability to stand for extensive periods, walk, kneel, or reach; lift at least 50 lbs.
• Bike shop experience a plus.
